About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical construction project in Boxmeer. This is a contract role for an initial period of 6 to 12 months, with a strong possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
You will be a key part of the site-based team, ensuring that process safety principles are integrated throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile pharmaceutical facility, contributing to the delivery of a state-of-the-art manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on process safety during design, construction, and commissioning phases
- Conduct and facilitate process hazard analyses (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA, What-If)
- Support risk assessments and develop safety procedures in line with regulatory and client standards
- Review and advise on safety aspects of P&IDs, layout drawings, and equipment specifications
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, HSE, and client teams on safety-related topics
- Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations as required
- Support handover documentation and provide technical input into project deliverables
Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in process safety engineering, ideally in a pharmaceutical or high-hazard environment
- Strong knowledge of EU safety legislation and standards (ATEX, PED, Seveso, etc.)
- Experience with HAZOP/LOPA facilitation or participation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage
